The University of Newcastle, in collaboration with the Department of Defence (DoD) and the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), is hosting its annual Demystifying Security Clearances event.
This session provides valuable insights for students on the role of security clearances, their importance to Australia’s sovereign workforce, and the opportunities they unlock across defence and related industries. Attendees can engage in one-on-one conversations with employers and ask specific questions about clearance pathways.
The event also offers a unique opportunity for industry to connect with future talent. Through the University’s Clearance Sponsorship Program, employers can financially sponsor students (typically for NV1 clearance) and, in return, gain access to a pool of security-cleared students ready for placements, internships, cadetships, and employment.
Sponsorship Levels:
Bronze: From $4,065 (3–7 NV1 sponsorships)
Silver: From $9,485 (7–15 NV1 sponsorships)
Gold: From $20,325 (15+ NV1 sponsorships)
Clearance sponsorships can be transferred if an employer offers a paid employment opportunity, ensuring flexibility and continuity.
