Hunter Defence has established a new ongoing relationship with Industry Update Manufacturing Magazine – Australia’s No.1 manufacturing and industrial equipment magazine and directory. This partnership sees Tim Owen appointed as the publication’s monthly Defence Editor, which provides an excellent opportunity to further build the profile of the region’s defence capabilities and capacities.

The February-March edition saw Tim featured for the first time discussing how manufacturers are rising to meet defence industry challenges, which was followed by updates from Ed Husic, Minister for Industry and Science, and Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Industry, Skills and Training Sussan Ley. This edition also included a story on Hunter-based clean tech solution provider 3ME Technology which was supported by HunterNet.

In the recent April-May edition, Tim has provided an update on the growth in defence capabilities in Australia touching on both the recently-released Defence Industry Development Strategy (DIDS) and the Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities (SDIPS). This edition also provides a great example of how the relationship with Industry Update will benefit local SME’s and organisations working both in and outside defence. This latest edition covered the $1 billion Solar Sunshot program announcement made by Prime minister Anthony Albanese at the former Liddell Power Station site, a profile on HunterNet, and features on the Hunter Manufacturing Awards and recent HunterNet Industry Excellence Export Award winner OMNIA Wheel.

“Places like the Hunter that have powered our nation for
more than a century will power our future”
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

We look forward to a great ongoing relationship with Industry Update!
