As detailed in the National Defence Strategy 2024, one of the Government’s priorities is increasing Defence’s Guided Weapons and Explosives Ordnance (GWEO) stocks, strengthening supply chains and building a domestic manufacturing capability. A key requirement to achieve this priority is the construction and uplift of storage and distribution facilities to accommodate Defence’s growing GWEO inventory.
At the time this Market Sounding is published, the Commonwealth anticipates that the scope of the Project will be:
• Three (3) new Light Frangible Buildings (LFB) for the storage of Explosive Ordnance (LFB is a lightweight steel framing structure and steel roofing. Concrete hardstand and flooring) – first priority;
• Refurbishment works of an existing hardstand to repair the existing surface and to install lighting/CCTV – second priority if sufficient funding available;
• Minor internal fitout modifications to existing admin building to enable new CCTV monitoring systems;
• Supporting infrastructure
