After a highly successful and sold-out 2021, the Hunter Defence Conference is back bigger and better in 2022!

This year sees the conference extended from two (2) to three (3) days to include more speakers, content, and opportunities to network with defence primes, SMEs, academia, and the Department of Defence.

We are also pleased to announce the inclusion of an exhibition component in 2022, providing an opportunity for those working with – or wanting to work with Defence – a chance to directly showcase their offerings.

Whilst individual speakers will not be confirmed until after the Federal election – this year’s conference will centre around two themes:

  • Demonstrating the increased SME capabilities: Following the successful roll out of the Defence Ready Seminar Series in 2021, the region is now home to an increased number of SMEs preparing for, entering into, or expanding their capabilities in the Defence market. The conference will providing an excellent opportunity for these organisations to attend, network and potentially take part in speaking opportunities to discuss their experiences – and importantly their capabilities – directly with Defence Primes and other key players
  • Defence plans and projects: Defence capability managers representing all of the major defence projects and contracts will be in attendance at this year’s conference. This provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for delegates to hear the most up-to-date information across all of the available projects, as well as new and upcoming opportunities coming to the region.

  • A ‘member’ is any organisation that is a Hunter Defence Key Stakeholder: RDA Hunter, HunterNet, Hunter Business Chamber, Australian Industry Group, Australian Industry Defence Network, Industry Capability Network NSW, Hunter Defence Support Network, University of Newcastle, TAFE NSW, Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre, T.W. Woods Construction, NSW Government, GOAL Group, and The Measured Marketer
  • Conference packages include morning and afternoon tea, Wednesday evening Networking Drinks and the Gala Dinner on the Thursday. All other catering is at the delegate’s own expense
  • Conference packages exclude accommodation
  • Conference tickets are non-refundable but delegates are transferable. Should COVID-19 event compliance requirements change significantly in the lead up to the event, the conference will most likely be postponed and tickets transferred to the new date. If attendees are no longer able to attend the newly proposed date, a refund will be offered (with an administration fee of $79).
